New unit gives AV integrators a rack mounted protection system that is ideal for distributed audio systems

Amina Technologies is pleased to announce the launch of the APU-R 8-channel Rack Mount Filter Protection Unit. Amina has improved the AIWX Invisible Loudspeaker Series to make installation of Amina loudspeaker systems easier for AV professionals and systems integrators in large commercial and residential installations.

The new APU-R enables installers to protect up to 8 Amina speakers centrally via a standard 19” 1U enclosure. This 8-channel system is totally passive, and each channel has its own selectable jumper to enable it to handle the entire Amina AIWX loudspeaker range (AIW1X through AIW5X) within a single component. As well as being styled to blend in with other elite equipment, the APU-R provides a high-pass filter to ensure that the Amina speakers are not fed with excessive base frequency. In addition, it also features thermal fusing so that the loudspeakers are not overdriven accidentally. Speakon® Connectors, located on the rear panel, are used for input/output connections. The new unit also meets all the required criteria for the Amina 10-year AIWX loudspeaker warranty.

The new APU-R is available now in the USA and Canada through Certified Amina Dealers, and worldwide via Amina's authorized distributor network. It will be on display in Booth 125 at CEDIA EXPO 2009 in Atlanta, GA September 10-13.
